Hello, My Friends
Welcome to Episode # 17
Did you know your life has an importance scale?
Time and energy are the indicators of what is important to you.

The more dedicated time you allow for something, the greater the importance it is to you.
Even if you dislike doing it, if you dedicate a lot of your time to doing it, it is important to you.

Also the amount of energy, and the type of energy you expend on the tasks, that take up your time, state what is important to you.

Let’s say, you tell me that your children are important to you.
I’d ask you how much time do you spend with your children?
If you are like I was when I had young children, you may answer, “I spend all day with them.
They take up all my time.”
How much of that time is actually spend with them?
Not doing things for them, not being in the room, or area with them, not tidying up after them, or preparing meals for them, or teaching them, training them.
The time I’m speaking about is the time to actually enjoy them, to create an emotional connection with them, doing things that are important to them.
When we value what is important to us, we give it attention, complete and undivided attention.
The attention doesn’t necessarily have to be long in duration, it has to be relevant to the attention reciever.

If our children are really important to us, we will do the above activities and more, for them, with them and because of them.
We will do it with a pleasant attitude, with gracious love and caring. We will also take care of ourselves, for without self care we become drained and tired, weary of giving out our energy. We must refresh ourselves in ways that refuel our energy tanks.
How often do we lose sight of the privelege we have of preparing a meal, tidying a home, cuddling or consoling an upset child?

The quality of your time and energy spent on something that is important to you, can pay you in vast rewards.
Do you go to work everyday?
Are you happy to go to work, or do you drag yourself out of the house and moan about having to go to work?
Are you the person that everyone tries to avoid, and you haven’t figured out why?
Do you get the bare minimum of work required done to keep your space in the company?

Spending time on the job, does show that the result you get from that position is important to you.
My assumption is that you go to work, or the job, or the place of employment to bring home a certain amount of money at the end of your pay period.
The work or job may not be important to you, but the money is.
How many hours a week are you spending in gainful employment?
Are those hours adding value to your life or are they taking away your life energy?

I imagine our life energy like the energy bar of a computer game, the more hits we take from life, the less we energy we have.
We have to spend time doing activities, with people, and personally that restore our life energy.
We do this by doing the things that are important to us.
Spending quality time with family, laughing, connecting and sharing could be one way to recharge your battery.
Investing time in something you find all absorbingly interesting, could be another way to recharge your battery.

Knowing who you are and what drains your battery, and what refuels it are very important.
How well do you know yourself?
How well do you know what is important to you, and how much quality time and energy do you invest in the things that are important to you?

To begin to see yourself, and your role in your life as important, invest ten minutes every day to think about what lights you up, and then create a way to make that happen for you.
Recharge your battery, you can only give to the amount you have in store.
If your battery is running on empty and you are feeling tired, and angry, disheartened and unmotivated, you may need to invest a little time and energy doing what fills your emotional cup.

Quality focused time and energy, will produce more results than long and scattered time and energy.

Today’s challenge is to do one thing that makes you smile, that recharges your battery, that fills your emotional cup with love and joy.
Emotional fulfillment is found in the little moments tucked in between the big events of life. Find your emotional fulfillment moments.
