Asking yourself powerful questions,
Answering honestly those powerful questions,
This creates clarity of where you are,
This also gives you the power to make changes as needed, little by little.

Welcome to Authentic Living with Linda
I’m Linda Codlin
Welcome, My Friends.
What a whirl wind it has been for the last couple of weeks.
We have sold our home and we are moving 2 hours over the hill from here on Thursday.
I am so glad I have been living a decluttered life, it has made packing so much easier.
This week I want to ask you a few pointed quality questions.
These are the questions I ask myself and my clients when we want to find a bit of clarity around the next steps to take.

- What do you feel is the biggest challenge in your life right now?
Remember when I journal, I use two coloured pens, one to ask the question and one to answer the question.
The idea behind asking what the biggest challenge in your life, is for you to be honest with what is really going on.
You can’t solve a problem, or work through a challenge you’re not willing to have.
This question is to help you open up to what you feel is going on.
I also would ask you to identify where you feel the tension of this challenge in your body.
Your body will always tell you the truth, your brain is a processing facility, whereas your body is an energy centre. This energy centre once we learn to listen to it, will tell us what is going on in our body. - What do you believe about yourself that’s keeping you from moving forward?
This is a loaded question.
I recommend you write down all the beliefs you have about yourself, both positive and negative perceptions.
Write without judgement, without self recriminations.
Listen to the voice that is telling you about yourself, is it a parent voice, a partner voice, a teacher voice. Whose voice are you hearing?
How are you feeling in your body?
What age are you?
Where do these beliefs take you?
Write this all down, it is important to identify what you tell yourself about yourself.
One the thought ladder, this is the bottom rung, it’s identifying what you think about yourself, in the privacy of your thoughts.
These thoughts will determine how you act.
If you want more clarity on how to reset your beliefs about yourself, seek out a coach or guide who can help you work through your thoughts. - When you think about your goals, what fears or doubts arise?
Embrace these fears and doubts, they are the very tools that will reveal what will be required of you to attain your goal.
Often we run away from our fears, we coddle our doubts and try to appease them so they will leave us alone.
The only way to achieve your goal is to face your fears, and to recognise your doubts are parts of you that need to grow.
Write out your fears, look them in the eye and create a plan to step into them.
Plan tiny, iddy biddy steps that move you towards the very thing you think you can’t manage.
I have found that often our fears are just the fear of taking a step into the unknown, and once we begin to step, the fear vanishes into thin air.
And if your body is having a full on panic attack, remember to soothe your body, let it know it is safe and it is okay to do the thing that is frightening you.
If your fear is based in a life trauma event, I suggest you seek professional help to move through this fear, and support to heal the trauma from the event.
The fear and doubt around your goal, is the path to achieving the growth that will bring the goal to you. - What do you think would happen if you didn’t change anything in your life?
This question is designed to get you thinking about the possibility of what life could look like if you chose to do nothing and to continue to live the way you are.
Would the pain you are feeling currently get worse, or would you find different ways to numb yourself from your authentic self?
How much peace and happiness would you have if you did nothing more with your life?
Write your answers out on the left hand side of the page, then on the right hand side, write who it would affect and how that would feel.
Then on the back of your page answer this question.
What do you think would happen if you changed one small thing about your life everyday?
Ask your brain to list the things you could change that would make the biggest difference in your life. Remember it’s the small day to day habits that decide where we will be in 6 months or 12 months time.
When you shift one small action, it can create a huge ripple effect over time. - What are you holding onto that no longer serves you?
We hold onto all sorts of things, mostly we are not even aware we are holding onto things that we can actually let go of.
Maybe you are holding onto the belief that you’re not worthy of success, or that you have been told you are a messy person and so you believe you will always live in a mess.
Maybe you have a belief that you can’t earn a wage that will provide security for your family, or what money you do have runs through your fingers like water in a sieve.
What are you attached to that is not helping you to achieve the things you want for yourself?
Write your answers out.
Have a look around your space, what objects are in your space. How do you feel about them?
Every object we surround ourselves with has an energy attached to it, what is the energy of the items around you, are they helpful for your growth?
Letting go of the things that no longer serve you, releases energy for you to move into what you really want to do.

So, my friends these five questions, if you choose to answer them honestly will help you to gain clarity around what is stopping you from moving ahead, and help you to gain clarity around where you are, what is working and what isn’t.
Write your answers, leave it a day or two then come back and read them again, do you still agree with what you have written?
Do you have more clarity to add to what you have written, use a different colour pen and note them down.
Come back in a few more days and reread what you have written again. Are your responses still the same?
Until next time: Begin to journal what you think you might want for yourself in your life. Ask your authentic self what would make you happy, then begin to add a touch of this to your every day. Sprinkle a little bit of your authenticity in every thing you do.
oxoxo Linda.
