Everything requires food to survive.
Your soul requires food, Your body requires food, Your brain requires food.
Everything is working for you, the question is how well is it serving you.
We get to choose what we nourish ourselves with.

Are we consuming and creating the kind of food that is healthy for us?
Listen to your body it knows what it needs.
Sleep, nourishing food, motivation, exercise, soul food.
Hello, My Friends
My, how the weeks roll around.
This week I want to share a concept that’s had me re-evaluating how I do Linda, and I hope it will have you re-evaluating how you do you.
I’ve been reading a book by Thich Nhat Hanh, ‘The Art of Communicating’
It’s not a big book, and I figured I’d have it read in a short amount of time.
Not so, the principles in this book are striking a chord within me.
Do you read, to say you’ve read the book, put it away and never look at it again?
Or do you read a book from start to end, no matter how dry, or interesting?
Or do you pick up a book, open the page to wherever it opens and begin reading there?
or maybe you don’t read, maybe you listen to audio books and programmes.
It is taking a while to read this book, as I absorb the principles.
The principle I want to share today is about what he calls essential food.
Everything needs food to survive. Without food life would cease to be life.
He states in the book, “Everything we consume acts either to heal us or to poison us.
Think about that statement, Everything we consume acts either to heal us or to poison us.
Lets consider what we consume, firstly there’s food, the substances we take in through our mouths, does this nourish us, does the food we eat enhance our health or does it degrade our health?
We have been educated in what healthy and unhealthy eating looks like. And the sublities therein can create so much mental drama within ourselves, that we give up eating for health and well-being.
Have you been on this treadmill? Eating what others tell you is unhealthy, then beating yourself up for it, so you feel so bad, you just have to reach for more food to feel better.
That’s one part of the equation of what we consume either heals or harms us.
What else do we consume that can either heal or harm us?
Lately, there’s been a lot of conversation around our social media consumption, what we watch, how the algorithms affect what we see most often.
I want to put out there, is what you are consuming with your eyes and ears, healing your soul, or harming it.
When you watch other people’s dramas, your body has a physical response, and the more heightened the response, the more the body and brain will want to experience it again.
Also remember what we look at and think about most is what we are energetically drawing to ourselves. This type of consumption becomes a closed loop of behavioural reinforcement.
What we say to ourselves and to others, has the ability to nourish or to cause suffering.
Are we feeding those around us love and compassion, or are we feeding them anger, violence and tension?
We have a choice in what we speak.
This links into what we are feeding our brain and our soul. If we are feeding our brain a constant stream of violent or hateful information, guess what is going to come out. What we put into our brain and soul, is what comes out.
Are we ingesting quality information? Things that feed and nourish our souls, that give our brain interesting and challenging things to think about.
Imagine the combined energy when all people, everywhere decided to create life giving and soul nourishing conversations.
It begins with you and I. We have the ability to create a ripple effect.
By choosing to speak kind words of truth, to choose to turn off content that is not conducive to harmony, to take better care of our body, the things we surround ourselves with, and the spaces we work, play and live in.
To create healthy and wholesome foods that nourish our body and soul, we are required to become aware.
To become aware of what we are currently consuming, to become aware of what we are listening to, what we are eating, what we are allowing into our sacred spaces.
Awareness is the beginning of all change. Awareness is the beginning of healing and health.
As we become aware of what is poisoning us, we can make a tiny shift.
It’s the small things done with love, care and attention that can create the biggest shifts.
Listen to your body, it will tell you what is healthy and wholesome for you.
Feel the energy, vibrating in your body. Does it feel in harmony with your soul?
Does your breathing feel free, or is it constricted?
Is your body tense, or relaxed?

Awareness my friend, Awareness is the beginning of change.
Also be kind and gentle to yourself, learning a new way of consuming can have it’s ups and downs. Without harsh self judgement, picking yourself up after a slip will be so much easier.
Today’s challenge if you’re up for it is to seek out what you are feeding yourself, and asking how does this heal me or poison me.
Until next time, Breathe into your authentic self, peace, harmony and life.
