Welcome to Authentic Living Coaching
I’m Linda Codlin, Transformational Life Coach.
Welcome, My Friends.
Everything begins with Clarity or awareness.
Over the next 4 weeks we are going to talk about Clearing the Mental Clutter, Loving Without Conditions: Filling your Emotional Cup, Self-Leadership: Taking Empowered Action, Living in Your Own Inner Authority, and finally Designing the Year Ahead: Creating a Vision for Your Future.
Each of these topics will build on the previous one, leading you into the New Year and giving you tips on how to transition gracefully into a new way of being.
If you are tired of the same goals year after year, the same unfulfilled aspirations, and feeling disappointed in the woman in the mirror.
Over these next four weeks I offer you inspiration, insights, why it is important, a coaching reframe, a simple action idea with practical ways to implement them, bonus ideas and this week’s growth challenge with a guided visualization and rhyming ditty to settle the concept in your spirit, then I give you a short affirmation you can take with you through the next week, and finally, to round off the December Renewal Series each week will include a set of reflection questions for you to dive deeper into your behind the scenes thoughts and beliefs.
For each item I will create a down loadable reminder sheet for easy access and focused action.
Let’s begin this month’s December Renewal Series.
Week One: Clearing the Mental Clutter- Make Space for What Matters
Inspiration: “You cannot invite in the new while holding tightly onto the old.”
Mental clutter is the invisible weight we carry: It’s the unfinished thoughts, looping worries, emotional residue from old situations, and the constant background hum of “I should, I should, I should.” And like a crowded room, a cluttered mind has no space left for clarity, creativity, intuition, or peace.

This week is about making room—gently, intentionally, compassionately. Because when you make space, what matters rises to the surface on its own.
Life has a way of filling our minds with noise—unfinished thoughts, old worries, scattered tasks, and the quiet pressure to keep up with everything at once. Over time, this mental clutter becomes heavy. It dulls our clarity, steals our presence, and crowds out the things that truly matter.
Clearing the clutter isn’t about perfection; it’s about creating space—space to think, breathe, feel, and choose consciously.
When you release what no longer serves you, you invite in what does: calm, direction, and a steadier connection with yourself.
Are you ready to connect with your inner self?
To own your heart felt desires, the things that REALLY matter to you.
Are you ready to let go of expectations that don’t serve you? The expectations that allow others to control your sacred space- Your heart.
When you allow yourself to let go of those people you thought you HAD to rescue, those who told you, you HAD to be a certain way for them to love and accept you, you make space for your heart to beat, and to breathe.
As you make space to listen, REALLY listen with your heart and soul, what matters rises to the surface, into the light.
You’ll know it instantly because it’ll be like coming home, home to yourself.
Gently notice what drains your energy or fills your mind unnecessarily.
Pause. Breathe.
Let it go, even for a moment.
Each small release becomes an act of empowerment.
Each clear space becomes an invitation for clarity, creativity, and purpose to return.
This is your week to lighten, soften, and realign with what truly supports you.
Why Mental Clutter Sneaks In
Mental clutter isn’t a character flaw. It’s simply a sign of an overloaded system. We live in a world that rewards busy, reactive, overstimulated living. But the truth is:
Your mind is not designed to hold everything at once.
It’s meant to flow, release, renew.
Clutter creeps in when we:
Avoid emotionally processing things
Say yes when we mean no
Try to hold too many priorities at once
Consume more information than we integrate
Don’t have rituals that clear our internal space
And yet, once we intentionally clear that space, life begins to feel lighter. Decisions become easier. Creativity flickers back on. Inner peace becomes reachable again.
Make Space: A Friendly Coaching Reframe
What if you didn’t need to “fix” your mind…
but simply tidy it?
Not with pressure, but with presence.
Not with perfection, but with small, loving actions.
Clearing mental clutter is less about discipline and more about self-respect.
It says: I am worthy of a spacious inner world.
Remember: By making space within, you create room for what matters most to rise to the surface. This is your week to lighten, soften, and realign with what truly supports you.
Daily Doing; Daily Reset Ritual
This week’s Three Simple Space-Making Practices for This Week.
- The 3-Item Release List
Each morning or evening, write down three things you choose to release today.
They can be small or significant:
A thought you keep recycling
A worry you can’t influence
Someone else’s expectation
A task that doesn’t actually matter
An emotion ready to soften
Release is clarity.
Clarity is energy.
Energy is freedom. - The 5-Minute Mind Sweep
Set a timer.
Dump every thought, task, idea, worry, memory, or “don’t forget this” onto paper.
No sorting. No judging. Just emptying the drawer.
When the timer stops, take a deep breath.
Look at your paper and choose one thing you can act on and one thing you can let go of.
This practice tells your nervous system: You are supported. You don’t have to hold everything alone. - One Quiet Moment a Day
Just one.
One minute of silence, one slow breath, one moment of pausing before responding.
This tiny act of presence begins clearing the mental noise in ways that surprise people.
Stillness is the broom that sweeps the mind.
Bonus Ideas:
Micro-Declutter Ideas
Unfollow accounts that drain you
Clean one small physical corner of your home
Reduce notifications
Cancel a commitment that no longer aligns
Choose one “mental tab” to close
Every tiny clearing creates space for something truer
This Week’s Growth Challenge
Choose one area of your life to simplify.
Not everything—just one.
Your schedule, your emotional load, your tasks, your relationships, your environment.
Ask yourself:
“What can I release so I can feel more like me?”
Then take one gentle action toward that release.
This Week’s guided Visualization:
I invite you to treat this guided visualization as a gentle reset for your inner world—a moment to step out of the noise and into your own quiet wisdom. We’ve explored the freedom that comes from clearing mental clutter and making space for what truly matters. This practice is designed to help you feel that shift from the inside out.
As you listen, you’ll be guided into a state of calm awareness where you can sort through the thoughts, worries, and old stories that have been taking up space in your mind. There’s nothing to force and nothing to get “right.” Simply allow yourself to soften, to breathe, and to let your inner landscape become clearer and more spacious.
When you’re ready, let’s begin.
This Week’s Rhyming Ditty:
A soft anchor for this weeks theme of Making space for What Matters.
When my mind feels full and tight,
I clear the space and call in light.
What doesn’t serve, I let it go—
I choose the thoughts that help me grow.
With open heart and calmer mind,
I make more room for peace to find.
Clarity rises, worries scatter…
I hold space now for what does matter.
This little ditty is here to gently anchor the heart of Week One’s message. Think of it as a light-hearted reminder—a soft, memorable way to carry the essence of clearing mental clutter with you throughout your day. Let it land playfully, let it settle warmly, and allow its rhythm to help you remember that spaciousness is always just one breath away. When you’re ready, press play and enjoy.
This Week’s Affirmation:
Words to take with you as you move through your week.
Choose one option that resonates with you.
“I clear my mind, create space, and choose what matters.”
“I release the noise and return to clarity.”
“My mind is spacious, my heart is steady, and I choose with intention.”
“I let go of what drains me and make room for what lifts me.”
“Clarity is my home, and I return to it with ease.”
Reflection Questions:
To Round off week one of our December Renewal Series- Clearing the Mental Clutter- “Make Space for What Matters”
I have a set of questions that are designed for you to dive deeper into your behind the scenes thoughts and beliefs.
Use these for journaling, meditation, or quiet self-awareness:
- What thoughts take up the most space in my mind right now, and do they truly deserve that much attention?
- Which worries or obligations feel heavy because they are unresolved—and which feel heavy because they are no longer mine to carry?
- If my mind had a “declutter” button, what is the first thing I would release without hesitation?
- What beliefs am I holding that no longer align with who I am becoming?
- Where in my life am I confusing busyness with importance?
- What drains my mental energy the fastest, and why do I continue giving it space?
- What do I avoid thinking about because it feels uncomfortable—and what might it free within me if I faced it gently?
- What are the quiet desires or ideas that I can’t hear clearly because my mind is too full?
- What boundaries—internal or external—would create immediate space and calm in my life?
- If my mind were a room, what would I remove, rearrange, or add to make it feel peaceful and intentional?
- What “shoulds” am I ready to release so I can reconnect with what I genuinely value?
- What does ‘space’ feel like in my body, and how can I cultivate more of that feeling daily?
Give yourself the gift of time to contemplate these questions, answer them as honestly as you can.
They are designed to gently expose hidden beliefs, unprocessed thoughts, and the internal noise that takes up space—helping you to gain clarity, intention, and self-awareness.
As we close Week One, take a moment to honour the courage it takes to pause, to look within, and to gently clear the inner clutter that’s been weighing on your spirit.
Every thought you have untangled, every belief you have questioned, every small space you have reclaimed—these are acts of self-respect and quiet power.
You’ve opened a little more room for peace, for clarity, and for the things that truly matter to you.
Remember, this work isn’t about perfection—it’s about softening, noticing, releasing, and returning to yourself with kindness.
Your mind is becoming lighter, your heart more spacious, your energy more your own.
Trust that these tiny shifts accumulate into something genuine and lasting.
Until next time—keep choosing what nourishes you, keep releasing what drains you, and keep opening the door to the life that wants to meet you.
