Intentionality is the art of being fully present in each moment and making conscious choices that align with your values.

Welcome to Authentic Living with Linda
I’m Linda Codlin
Welcome, My Friends.
Here we are into the second week of January already.
Our lives are filled with medical appointments and the daily up and downs of life with a loved one on Chemo treatment.
I love the energy of the New Year, there is a tingle in the air, an anticipation that this year will be the one that sees all our dreams achieved.
A new calendar year date adds appeal to making changes, reflecting on what went well and what didn’t in the previous year.
I want to encourage you to focus more on what worked and how you can make that work even better this year.
The energy of forward focusing and delighting in what you really enjoy, loving to do, This energy draws what you want to you faster than slogging away at things that don’t inspire you.

Living with intention.
Aligning your tasks with your personal values puts you on the super highway towards success, because there is no internal resistance, your actions and your core values align.
For example if one of your core values is family connection, and part of your vocation requires you to work late most evening, you are sacrificing eating dinner with your loved one and children. Even when you put in extra effort to spend time with your family, you feel drained and guilty because you know you are not giving your family your best.
To get into alignment, you could adjust your schedule, or vocation so you are at home more often than not. You then get to nurture your core value by having dinner with your family, sharing stories, laughter and bonding time while fulfilling the requirements of your family’s needs.
By aligning yourself with your values, you feel more energized and satisfied, creating the feeling of being present wherever you are. When you are at work you are purposeful because you are not distracted by guilt or dissatisfaction. This is a win-win with all relationships and with yourself.
Reflect on your achievements.
Celebrate all your wins, especially the small ones. Things like cooking meals almost everyday for a year, this is a huge achievement, and a huge amount of emotional and physical commitment.
Often as wives and mothers we don’t see the benefit of our day to day routines. Today, take a few minutes to appreciate the routine tasks you do that usually don’t get noticed. Notice the completed, clean washing, the dishes that have been washed, the beds that have been pulled up, the children’s run to care so you can get to work on time.
Thank You for all you do, you are amazing.
Review what is serving you.
Now is the time to review what is serving you and what isn’t.
Are you doing too much in your home, that is leaving you without the energy to take care of yourself and the important things. I’m thinking of encouraging children to take responsibility for their laundry, (age appropriate of course), children can begin folding, they can prepare veges for meals, they can make beds.
Emotionally what are you holding onto that doesn’t serve you anymore. Who are you giving your energy to, that doesn’t deserve your energy?
I’m thinking about past relationships, people you may not have seen for years, but you still remember and emotionally nurse the hurt they did to you.
This actually hurts you a lot more than it hurts them. Why would you give your power to someone who in your opinion gave you pain?
Why not use this power and energy to create what you want?
Release the tension, release the hurt, release the person.
Healed and whole.
See yourself as healed and whole. What would it feel like not to be weighed down with the burden of carrying everything, feeling like you have to do ALL the things.
One of the most devastating ways of thinking, I believe, is to tap into the false belief that you are broken, that you need saving, that something is wrong with you and you need someone to fix you.
This belief keeps you living a small life, it prevents you from trying out the good ideas you have, it stops you from trusting your heart and soul, from getting to know your authentic self in all your fullness.
See yourself as vibrant, Fun loving and light hearted. How would it feel in your body to live a life of vibrancy, or having fun, laughing out loud, smiling for no reason other than you are happy, being light-hearted, feeling like you are bullet proof, light and able to float around, above and through whatever your current struggles are.
If I can impart one belief for 2025, it would be that you are valuable, you are worthy, and you are whole and complete as you are, today.
Until next time, my friend, reflect on your life last year, the small daily actions you take and the effect they have on you and those around you.
Look at your big successes, pull out the helpful lessons on what made them work so well.
Align your decisions with your core values, and life will seem to run a lot more smoothly.
xoxoxo Linda.
